Coffee County 9-1-1 has two PSAPs (Public Service Answering Points) that answer and dispatch emergency services (law enforcement, medical & fire) to county residence. The Elba Police Department answers 9-1-1 calls in the Western half of the county and the Enterprise Police Department answers 9-1-1 calls from the Eastern half of the county. The two PSAPs are redundant so that if one goes down, the other one can answer the calls from the entire county. Unlike most counties that have one answering point for 9-1-1 calls, Coffee County has a “built-in backup” system. Both PSAPs have identical equipment, mapping and databases.
